Swaz, the man behind Spitballin Radio, and I have had many a hip hop related debate over the years. It is because we are at nearly opposite ends of the taste spectrum that I asked him to create a list for this Top 5 Producers discussion. If we were talking about this in a room together, trust that the transcription would be close to book length.
Kanye West
Kanye west is #1 on my list because he gives us a lot of music and it's all at a very high quality. He hasn't been at it as long as some other producers but his
resume stacks up against them all.

The Neptunes
The neptunes are #2. Like Kanye they gave us a lot of music in their run. While giving us all the
radio music they still gave us a whole other side by doing their rock
albums. I'm sure most people think they're run is over cuz they don't hear them on the radio anymore but they've just moved on to scoring movies. Good
transition I think....
Favorite Beat: Lap Dance
Dr. Dre
Dr. Dre is my #3. Tapped
as the man who came up with the west coast sound from the late 80's to the
early 00's, his production has given us a slew of artist. Dre's sound has
stamped a time period unlike any other on this list.
Favorite Beat: Straight Outta Compton
Timbaland
#4 is Timbaland. With all his
weird sounds, bells, whistles and drums Timbo ushered in a new sound and might
have given us one of the best female rappers with his production of Missy....
Favorite Beat: The Rain by Missy
Diddy rounds out my top 5 list....
What more can u say about diddy?!?! This one is the one I might take the most
heat for but I don't care diddy might have stamped his era better then any of
the producers on this list!!!! Some might say he isn't a real producer cuz he
had a production team but so does dr. Dre it might be diddy's finishing touches
that brings some tracks to life and that's why I'm giving him his spot!!!!
